(N0UC), Steve Howard (AB0XE), Bernie Hanson
(KA0GX), Don Nelson (KF0UU),
Pete Sigtermans (N0FKC), Jim Boyd
(KC0QCO)
Dick Roberts (N0UC) said that
due to tight timeline for nominating 2008 club officers he was appointing
himself as a “nominating committee” of one.
He was doing this, he said,
with the understanding that members attending the November 27 Monthly meeting
could nominate others.
Considerable discussion
followed regarding the possibility of combining the offices of Secretary and
Treasurer. Given our total average
membership, there doesn’t appear to be a compelling need for two officers. It was agreed a single officer could fulfill
these dual responsibilities throughout the year.
Dick indicated such a move
requires changing the club constitution with membership approval. Dick will
begin drafting the proposed change to be presented to the general membership
for a vote as required.
It was agreed the initial
slate for 2008 officers include:
President: Dick Roberts (N0UC)
Vice-President: Steve Howard (AB0XE)
Secretary: John Thomas (W3FAF)**
Treasurer: Bernie Hanson (KA0GX)*
Members at Large & Trustee re-nominated
*Nominations for Secretary/Treasurer finalized as
details worked out.
**John Thomas (W3FAF) had not yet been contacted.
Treasurer Bernie Hanson
(KA0GX) reminded the board, the club’s liability insurance premium is coming
due in January.
It was agreed Monday, January
14 was the preferred date for the club’s annual banquet. Tuesday, January 15 is the backup date. Jim Boyd (KC0QCO) will contact Old Country
Buffet, Woodbury for confirmation of one of these dates. Commenced 7:30p. Adjourned 9:25p.

SEMARC Monthly Minutes
Dick said such liability
insurance is required as part of the club’s agreement with the city for
mounting our W0CGM repeater antennas on water towers. Gary Esler (WK0X) moved payment. Skip seconded. APPROVED.
Reports: Gary, field day
chairman, said our club ranked second nationally in our 6F category in
June. To put that in perspective, he
said, there were only three clubs operating in that category. If, the city had started the emergency
generator at our operating site: FS #2, we would have achieved sufficient points
to nearly overtake the winner, he said.
Steve is moving the code
